BMW Group Malaysia once again takes on its role as the Official Car Partner for the second consecutive year in the much acclaimed CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia 2011
Kuala Lumpur, 26 October 2011 – BMW Group Malaysia today announced that the premium carmaker will continue to be the Official Car Partner for the second time at the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia. The much acclaimed event which returns after its debut in 2010 will be held at The Mines Resort & Golf Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 27 to 30 October 2011.

Briscoe added that all over the world, the BMW Group has a ‘grassroots to pinnacle’ level involvement in the sport of golf with the premium automaker’s own BMW Golf Cup International competition being its largest and most prestigious amateur golf competition.
This year, BMW Group Malaysia will once again provide a fleet of BMW vehicles which will be utilised for the shuttling of all players as well as the VIPs who will be in Malaysia throughout the event. The Bavarian machines will also be spread around the course. The 16th hole will see a 5-Series diesel on offer for the hole-in-one prize, the uber-sexy Z4 will be at the 10th tee-box and adorning the public village at the tournament will be a 6-Series and 7-Series convertible

The CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia is back again this year to treat golf fans to four whole days of action-packed star studded swinging action. The much-anticipated second edition of the PGA TOUR’s flagship event in Southeast Asia will see an increase in the winner’s prize purse from USD1.0 million to USD1.3 million.
Already the largest and richest tournament of its kind in the region, it was also announced that the player field for the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic will increase from 40 to 48 players, with two Malaysians competing with PGA TOUR professionals in the much anticipated tournament.
The 2011 edition of the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic will see the top 30 PGA TOUR players who qualify through the FedEx Cup points battle it out with the Top 10 Asian Tour players and 8 player exemptions. This rounds up the competing playing field to the new total of 48 players, all of whom will play throughout the 4 days of the event.
